FOOD: WOW. The rolls came out FAST and they were soooooooo good. They were also INCREDIBLY generous with the shrimp tempura. Usually you get like 3 pieces at other places but one serving here included not one, not two, but LIKE FIFTEEN pieces of shrimp tempura. I felt BLESSED by the grace of God and I'm not even religious.
SERVICE: Impeccably balls to the wall.
VENUE: Located in a large plaza a block from Wynn. The restaurant itself isn't very large but it's still decently sized. The decor is very fittingly Japanese.
From this day forward this is now my favorite AYCE sushi spot of ALL TIME. -

I was excited to try this place because the location on Flamingo used to be my favorite AYCE spot until the quality of the food started to dwindle. I read some great reviews about this location so we went for my birthday. I was terribly disappointed and almost embarrassed because I spoke so highly of the other location.
Everything lacked flavor. From the white tuna and scallop nigiri, to the hamachi kama, to the baked mussels and so on. The rolls were even bland. The chicken teppanyaki was so dry I could barely swallow it. Not to mention the shrimp tempura and short ribs aren't made to order. I saw one tray of each sitting under a heat lamp.
*** I don't like to post TMI, but I feel like it's important in this case. So stop reading now if you get grossed out easily. Shortly upon leaving (literally 10-15 minutes), I had an overwhelming urge to use the restroom (not number 1 either). It was so bad I risked picking my daughter up from cheer practice late to run into a Starbucks to use it! This was only the first of several emergency trips to the bathroom after eating here. Did I mention it was my birthday???***
It's unfortunate, but my visit to Yama Sushi on the strip has ruined my desire to eat anymore AYCE sushi! Save yourself the agony DO NOT EAT HERE! -

I usually love Yama Sushi - at least the one on Flamingo. Decided to give this one a try and I left totally unimpressed. Perhaps it was a bad day, not sure. They were out of many of the things we go to Yama for. No Hamachi Kama, no Salmon Kama, seafood salad was not nearly as good as we have had. The uni; yuk, you could tell it was past its prime, very mushy and not tasty at all. The sweet shrimp had an off taste. All in all, the fish didn't seem as fresh as it normally is. Would I go back - maybe, but I would probably go to one of the other locations first.

For $25, including tax, for all-you-can-eat sushi, you can't beat the price! Yama Sushi just opened their latest location here and I have a sense most people don't know about this one yet. We were waiting at another restaurant but the line was ridiculously long there. Not to mention, there was a huge wait for Tacos El Gordo at the entrance to plaza and Yama is kind of tucked away in the back. With that said, it was great for us because we didn't have to wait at all!!
We ordered a bunch of sushi and also made sure to order the specialty items that you can only order once (uni, giant clam, sweet shrimp, soft shell crab, etc...). I love the fish-to-rice ratio here. They give you long, thick pieces of fish and minimize the rice so you don't get as full too quickly. We didn't get any rolls and I think that's the way to go if you want to maximize your experience. As far as the quality goes, it's not the best but it's also not the worst. The uni wasn't too fresh but I did enjoy the salmon, garlic tuna, yellowtail and halibut. Cap off your meal with some mochi or ice cream and you have yourself a great dining experience.
I'm a fan of this place! I hope it doesn't get too crowded in the future.
